Jerry: Hats off to ya for teaching him right. Amazing that a modern Dad
would let his son NEAR a .22. Rifle clubs are BAD while electronic
babysitters allowing the kid to practice blowing up the world are okay.
Feh! You ought to refer the kid's dad to Headwaters Outdoor School, where
the kid can learn some more real skills. AK is the place to practice them
though! Grant

Folks,

I had a gentleman call me wanting to know if I could
sight in his son's 22. I tried to tell him that its an
individual thing. He said he would pay me $20 if I
would do this.

He and his son showed up a hour and half ago, I took
the rifle and hit a target in my back fiel that was 50
feet away. Then I put up a paper target, shoot at it 5
times, one a little high and to the right and the next
4 inside the bullseye. I was using the prone
prosition. I let the young man fire the rifle, missed
the target all together. I notice that he was
flinching as pulled the trigger. I gave him the take
in a breath and all of that advise. He hit the target,
lets say on the paper. I showed him how to make sight
adjustments on his rifle, really simple to do on his
rifle.

I took the young man to practice, and a lot. His
father gave me the $20 and $10 more for the lesson in
target shooting.

I asked if the father had every been in the military,
he said no, enough said!

A quick $30 for what was drilled into my head as a
youth.

Back to making knives.

Jerry
