[TheForge] Argon-CO2 mix question

Jerry,
Your thinking of what you can pour into a container in
the room.
In a cylinder the situation is different because the
pressure can go WAY up. In fact, CO2 in a cylinder is
a liquid, not a gas or solid. You can get special CO2
cylinders that have a tube all the way to the bottom
and tap off the liquid. This liquid will flash at
room pressure into gas AND solid.
So, what I'm thinking is that the Argon-CO2 that is
sold for welders is probably a mixture that will exist
unchanged between the liquid and gas phases. Such a
mixture is called an 'azeotrope'. However, a quick
search of the web did not locate CO2-argon azeotrope
information, so this is only speculation.
