This may, or may not, save you a few bucks -- sodium hypochlorite is
also common bleach. I don't know if it's as strong as the pool stuff,
but it's the same chemical.

clean with muratic acid, then spray on sodium hypochlortite. This is
used in larger 

swimming pools( ask I'm sure they would give you a spray bottle full).
spray 

lightly several times daily.  next nuturlize with water and baking soda.
this will 

give a deep rusted look with pitting. You can also use hydrogen peroxide
(pererbily 

20% solution found in beauty suppy shops)instead of the sodium
hypochlorite.
