Thanks for the tests, I wanted to buy some nitric acid not too long ago and 
it wasn't even all that expensive at a local supplier but the deposit on the 
container was $200.  I passed.  But, I think I may just have a bit scrounged 
from the side of the road if I can locate the bottle.  Back in the sixties 
in chemistry lab we used to drop pennies into nitric and dissolve them down 
to the size of a dime which would get us a coke from the machine in the 
basement.  Seemed like a good idea at the time.
