Andy,

Sometimes you can get your fire insurance reduced if you put in a pond near 
your home.  It gives the FD a place to pump from and they don't have to haul 
in all the water on tanker trucks.

What are you doing buying land?  I thought you was unemployed.

Question for anyone else: know of any decent companies for homeowners
insurance, "decent" being a relative term I suppose.  They want $2600 so
far because our driveway is 8/10 of a mile long and no hydrants on the
"main" road.  I insured my relatively $$ house in Freehold NJ for
something like $500 year, so this bill is a bit hard to swallow.  Any
recommendations would be welcome.
