Second Bruce, "almost" only matters if a lot of them aren't 
blacksmiths.
More seriously...this is a big country for a poor artist-BSer to 
drive alla way across in pursuit of a conference.
The population tends to be concentrated along the coasts.
  I propose we have a conference on each coast, on alternating 
years, and that the coasts swap demonstrators every few years.
Then once every 15 or 20 years we have one in the middle...grin
