PC boards are made of some type of resin material. When they get hot they
burn with thick clouds of black not nice smelling smoke.

No no no, there is heavy metal in computer circuit boards (lead,
cadmium etc) though I suppose gold would be a fairly heavy (though
non-toxic) metal.
My point being that circuit boards are no made, primarily, of metal.
and the small percentage of metal that they contain is likely to be
toxic, at least in part. THe stuff that is not metal, I suspect, is
also not something one ought to be heating up and breathing.
But hey, just my opinion, try it and see. I'm guessing you won't try it
twice.
