[TheForge] ABANA is NOT dead...

I always tell the new guys "If you ask 10 blacksmiths about something,
you'll get 11 opinions. It's up to you to sort out what works for you."

I don't have a problem with having it in Oklahoma. But if you're looking at
Kansas, then I go with my suggestion of the KC area.

Aubrey, go to the GPBA website: http://gpba.abana-chapter.com/
We're having a Spring conference in April with L. Japheth Howard
demonstrating architectural blacksmithing at our Haysville club shop.
Anybody else that is within driving distance of Wichita, Kansas is welcome
to our conference. More info on the website.

Okay, Rob. I guess I could make it to K.C. ;-) But, when I said Oklahoma
was the geographic center, I was including northern Mexico, since Marsha
mentioned all of North America.

But, I'll defer to Rob since he was one of my original teachers in the very
first (I think) beginners class held by GPBA at the old shop in Haysville.

Well, Kansas is the geographic center. Even though I'm in Wichita, I'd
suggest something closer to Kansas City, either the Kansas side or the
Missouri side. More hotels, cheaper airfares, and there's got to be a decent
county fairground out side the congested urban area.
