[TheForge] Horizontal Band saw

Ron,

I had the blade as tight as I could get it by hand. I'll check the roller position, but I think that is okay. I only wish the upper guides would come down lower when used in the vertical position, to provide more support for the blade.

Run-out and tracking sound all technical and stuff. But, I'll check the manual and see what I can figure out. The blade stays on the wheel just fine when there is no load on it.

As far as seeking perfection goes, that's why I'm a blacksmith not a machinist. I just can't figure out how to forge my bandsaw into shape.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Aubrey

Aubrey, did you have the blade real tight? Also, read the manual on
adjusting run-out & tracking. Also, the pressure feed (speed). Set the
rollers in their proper position and check with a square for a straight cut.
On 3/8" sq, just feed it by hand. Only takes about 10 min to cut out a small
cross like that with a good blade. It may help to turn the work over every
half inch or so to keep a straight cut on both sides. Make sure that dinky
table is somewhat square or make one of 1/4" plate. If not perfect, don't
pitch a conniption fit; ur a blacksmith and ur gonna forge it anyway.
