Ram up your next grate from 4,000f refractory, E.J.
Bartels might still have a few boxes of Pyramid Super
Air set around, they ship. http://www.ejbartells.com/
Mike suggested detuning the burner to run rich so it
won't develop all the heat directly under the grate.
Once up to heat it'll pick up the needed oxy after it's
dispersed in the chip bed and still burn clean.
I was really looking foreward to experimenting with
some of these things this winter. <sigh>
Don't fall off things!
