[TheForge] TIG Welder

I repaired a gasoline ac/dc welder at work years ago. The dc setting
shorted the system and caused smoke. Looking inside, there was only a
bridge rectifier with honker heat sinks. All they were doing was full wave
rectifying the ac to make the dc. Then select the plug in for positive or
negative. Simple task to change an old unit over to dc.

If you put a small blower on the heat sink the size gets much smaller<G>.

I use a Lincoln WELD PAK 155...220V...Love it

I use a 1959 Lincoln, Arc welded, 220 volts, with built in 6 volt
battery charger, works great, but is AC only, and is a couple of years
older than me.
