I'm sorry to hear the news, but I'm glad they caught it early. I'll be
praying for you. I just had a physical couple of months ago because I turned
50. My prostate is healthy, but my cholesterol/triglycerides is another
story.
You're right, it does pay to have periodic check-ups.

I've been diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. My prospects are
very good (I'll be having it taken out).
My main point in writing is to point out that if you men aren't getting
tested for PSA every year, you really must. Prostate cancer is slow
growing, but if you let it grow it can become deadly. By the time you
have noticeable symptoms other than the PSA blood test, it is very
likely too late.
I'll be happy to share what I've learned if anyone has questions; it is
OT, so a discussion direct is more appropriate.
