An under cut at the weld area is not good if you are going to forge the 
piece, like a cold shunt it starts a crack. You are better off putting more 
metal into the joint and forging it down or grinding it off. Heating the 
metal before mig welding helps also. Tig is nice but I only have that in 
one shop I work in and a lot of other guys don't either.
I hope to get the $ together to buy one of the inverter units so I can do 
tig in the field in the future (Near future would be nice)
