Hi Andy,
In my heavy resin casting and plastic sanding days i
generated vast amounts of fine white dust in my
parents' house. My mother was doing lost wax jewelry
in the same cellar and my white dust coated her
waxings and they came back from the caster with new
textures that were unintended and vastly increased
time to clean up the gold and silver. We had to
prevent the dust from leaving my space. A studwall and
a door and a fan for negative pressure saved my life.
In your new construction and the effect of negative
pressure in a tight system on forge draft i would
suggest the smithy be accessible through an outside
door and not permit entry to the main space except
through an anteroom, like a mudroom to sequester it.
if there is major access to the outside ventilation
will be effective. With potential welding gases and
plasma fumes leaky should be to the outside. Interior
doors permit the dirt to distribute itself thoughout
the bldg.
