Jerry,
the Ruger, like may modern barrels, is rotary forged.
Only a couple of companies make the equipment to do this, and its
incredibly expensive, complicated, and way cool.
It does Stainless steel as well- many of the stainless barrels are
rotary forged this way.

Here is an article about it.

Its a bit beyond hammer and anvil, thats for sure.

Here is the Austrian website-

That looks like a very cool little rifle.

Its always amazing to me how cheap a gun like that can be sold for-
Around $325 for that amount of machining and forging seems incredibly
cheap to me- I would charge more for a curtain rod.

Folks,

As that I liv eoutin BFE Ohio, I have all sorts of
pests and other critters around my fields. I have been
lacking a really decent 22 for a couple of years now.
I have a Marlin bolt action rifle, but the iron sights
are a little lacking, as well as my vision is getting
a little too bifocular these.

So I bought a Ruger 10/22 Target vesion with a 2 to 7x
Leupold scope. This should dispatch my small critters
and pests at some distances.

The interesting thing about the rifle is the bull
barrel, right on top it says Ruger Forged Barrel. Any
of you guy out there doing forge work for Ruger?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Jerry
