I'm not fantasizing any such thing.  Who in their right mind would ever 
want to get into a shooting war, except stoopid 19 year old kids who 
don't know shit about anything and want to find out what they think they 
are capable of, and GW Bush (is there a difference)?  There's a pretty 
wide gap between wanting such a thing and being forced into a very 
unpleasant choice.  Worlds apart.

As for training, I would say that most of the world'd best long distance 
shooters were probably NOT trained by the military.  I'm just guessing. 
  Also bear in mind that they all eventually leave the military and 
rejoin the pool of civilian marksmen... or go toe-up... usually in some 
idiot's shooting war.  Hi GW!
