I think that we as a nation should have every able
bodies citizen over 18 spend 2 years or more in some
sort of reserve system of the military or non military
federal jobs, like public health.

Like the Swiss do, and automatic rifle behind every
door and 200 rounds of ammo on hand. How high is the
crime rate in Switzerland.

We as blacksmith could get .5" steel rod, then forge
wrap that rod with steel. Plus up one end and drill a
touch hole, and defend ourselves. As that is is not
the wood workers forum, I won't go in to stock making.
