We might also point out that there is no such a thing as an "assault
weapon". There are assault RIFLES, and there is nothing special about
them. The gun-squeams are fond of whining about how "deadly" the
assault weapons are. If I HAD to choose, I'd rather take my chances
being on the wrong end of a 223 or 5.7mm than any hunter's round.

Anyhow, an assault rifle is generally defined as of small bore, medium
powered cartridge, and with selective-fire capability. No magic, no
special evil.

And finally, Jim is spot on. The ONLY thing keeping government from
running wholly roughshod over us is the fact that we are pretty well
armed. Were it otherwise, the few rights we retain would probably have
flown away decades ago.
