The cold-water stuff is great, but do be careful
because an overdose
of caffeine might feel a lot worse to your body than a
little acidic
oils from hot-brewed coffee. So start with small
amounts and find
what works for you. :)) For any of you home-brewers
who want to
make those "evil" up/down brews, a shot of cold water
extract as you
bottle your beer should blend better with most worts.
It is a gentle,
light, and more flowery flavor of the coffee, prolly
more like those
gardenias.

PS - If anyone has different results with the
specialized equipment,
I'd like to hear about it!
Yes, the only problem for me is too much caffeine in
too small a volume, too easily accessable. LD 50 for
rats, the amount to kill 50% of subjects , is 192 mg
per kg of rat. We can die at 10 grams. my college
roommate, a chemistry major, got toxic after using
the 500 mg gel capsules he filled, 5 no-doz or 6 cups
of strong coffee. He gave me a few at finals.
a group of us summer students at RPI a few summers
after Woodstock drove for a joy ride to Canada from
Troy ny. we slept in sleeping bags on the side of the
St.Lawrence. On return to the US they found a few of
the caffeine gel caps at customs. oops.
but why do people need assault weapons in big cities?
