A (hopefully) last thought on this one....
The dire predictions are based on computer models projecting outcomes  
a century from now.
Ironic that no computer model to date can take all of the accurate  
data of the past decade and cough out an equally accurate model that  
predicts the weather of yesterday........

Humanity got where it is by coping with change...change being the  
only constant we have to face.
