reading all this stuff about coffee got me to thinking
about hunting true chameleons in the blooming coffee
bushes on Mt. Kilimanjaro in 1976. 

Coffee is a member of family rubiaceae, shared with
gardenia. Next time you have contact with a gardenia
bloom, put the flower to one nostril and a cup of
coffee to the other. Most of the components of the
smell are the same and you get a sense of an
additional sweetness in the flower but the bulk of the
fragrance is in common.
