Renaissance wax is excellent. Good moisture protection, doesn't rub
off, and can be buffed to a nice gloss. Somewhat pricy, but a little
goes a long way ...

Subject: RE: [TheForge] Finishing

I'm trying to seal the steel curtain rods and hardware I just made, but
need some ideas on what to use. The goal is to put on a clear coat to
preserve the color I made with my propane torch.

I used clear spray acrylic on my last set, but that scratched really
easily and a friend of mine said that it's not actually that great for
keeping out moisture. I could get them clear powdercoated, but that adds
cost and I've found that it scratches pretty easily, too.

Any ideas?
