[TheForge] Pickling problem

Notelling just what the flux on the rod is without
asking the manufacturer but unless it's something
special it'll contain a large percentage of borax with
a binder and stabilizer.

Borax "slag" (for want of a better word) can be removed
by dropping the hot piece in water. You might want to
heat the part back up and give it a try.

I've also had pretty good luck removing borax slag by
just soaking in warmish water. This works well if the
piece is weeping white from a joint but also removed
the slag from regular forge welds.

On the other hand you may have discovered the "glass"
alchemists use to contain their universal solvent.

If it ain't forged
it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.
