My cousin is at rebeccasclupts.com; she makes bronze statues and I'll ask
her if she can recommend a good cleaning solution. Ron C

I'd remove the fixtures first, if possible.  Muriatic acid would 
probably do the trick, but you must be so very careful not to get it on 
the marble.  The worst part are the fumes, which go EVERYWHERE - this is 
why I strongly recommend removing the fixtures and repairing to the 
great outdoors where errant fumes will do no damage.

Actually, belay that last order - I'd go over to the artmetal sandbox 
and ask Elizabeth Meadows how to do this.  She just did a brilliant 
restoration of a bronze statue AND its marble base, both of which were 
terribly green with oxides.  She used something very particular, but I 
cannot recall what.  The marble came our bright and as-new looking.  The 
statue looked great as well.
