I agree with D-ski
Wore a heavy leather apron and a heavy welding helmet for years till the
discs in my neck herniated.
Do not use an apron that hangs from your neck with any frequency. Saw a guy
installing iron in Germany his straps came over his shoulders and joined
the waist straps in a ring on his back, I've had mine set up like this for
years and an auto dark helmet cuts down on nodding the helmet down causing
less stress to the neck
