Note to all that have power hammers if your thinking of rebuilding your hammer do it right don't half ass it and don't screw up your dove tails to fit them to a home made set of dies!
They guy you want to talk to is Harlan "Sid" Suedmeier or his daughter Kerry both of whome are experts with these hammers mine is running like new
I spoke to "Sid " he is a wealth of information if your rebuilding a hammer he knows a lot of dimensions off the top of his head
I ordered new dies for my 50 pounder when they arrived I sat them down in the lower dove tail ,the dove tails were at the wrong angle and way too big .
I called back and Sid talked me thru how to shim the dies and true up the edges he even when to the shop and got me some dimensions that he didn't know off the top of his head..
I ended up with a half inch plate on the bottom and a 5/16 inch shim on one side of the lower die to center it
When I fired it back up yesterday .I forged out 2 knives from 1 ½ 52100 round before it took me a day to get one forged out on the home made dies
