Yes, they're commonly known as a blown burner.
Unfortunately if you're trying to convince a furnace
supplier to sell you something only a pro should have
it really helps to use the professional terminology.
It's why I call induction burners "naturally aspirated"
rather than "venturii" burners. That only gets you
funny looks.
I've heard good things about ribbons and burner blocks
though I've never seen one in use. One of these days
though.
