Are you taking glucosamine and chondroitin? It makes a
world of difference for me.
What kind of shoes/boots do you wear in the shop? I
have a couple pair of custom made (they're all custom
measured and made. Or were the last time I got a pair)
White's boots that keep my entire lower half from
hurting. http://www.whitesoutdoor.com/boots-about.php
Deb swears by her Z-Coils. < http://www.zcoil.com/ >
Z-Coil recently developed a durable cover for the coils
so they're no longer a trip hazard. They are also
available with steel toes. I just bought a pair of Z
Duty boots, covered springs but no steel toes for mine.
They take virtually all the shock out of walking and
are especially nice on concrete. They take a little
getting used to.
They're lighter than the White's and less expensive. On
the other hand if you're doing a lot of heavy duty
outdoor work in the roughs, you can't beat the White's.
I have the Logger Smoke Jumpers.

it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.
