[TheForge] Steel for Strikers (flint sources?)

Try salvage garage door torsion springs. When heated and unrolled, a
salvage coil makes many of feet of steel. If you want new, go to an
overhead garage door place. They make replacement springs to suit and
may have some cheaper "scrap" odds and ends.

IF you quench the newly made striker quickly in cold water, it should
throw very hot sparks, but may be so brittle that it can break like glass
when dropped on concrete.
