Duplex nails have no coating; they have 2 heads for easy removal as they are
temporary...

That's a great idea, BUT watch out for galvanized or
otherwise coated nails. Try to get black nails. If
those are unavailable, you can toss zinc-coated nails
in vinegar until the zinc is etched off (overnight??).
You do NOT want to breath zinc fumes. Cadmium
plating(that gold- or yellowish coating with what
sometimes looks like temper colors that you see on
some hardware, especially electrical and electronics
hardware) is even worse.
