Saint:   I use springs frequently for knife blades.  They are typically 5160
in auto and railroad usage and 1095 for non rolling stock applications.  I
prefer the 5160 for blades, especially kitchen use.  You can tell the
difference as the 5160 will not rust quite as readily, while 1095 will rust
and pit in still air.   Grant
