Yep, those are spike tongs alright.
Next spike knife try not being so nice to the blank,
keep it straight as you go. Overcorrect, bend the blade
into the belly and when it starts to straighten out
bend it some more. Don't let it come straight till the
last draw before you go to the grinder.
