I was making some RR spike tomahawks while
demonstrating at Yesteryear Village (here in W Palm
Beach) and it took 2 of us 6 or 7 heats to cut a slit
in the spike for the handle socket. I was at a friends
shop and he said he could do it in one heat. I must
have looked disbelieving because he proceeded to show
me.
Using an air chisel and working from both sides he had
cut the slit in one heat with enough heat left to
start widening it. I was amazed!
Easily impressed,
Lynn
