I worked 10 years as a sheet metal worker and most of that time in the shop. 
Making 12" pipe and a 90 degree ell are fairly simple if you have the right 
tools. I wish I could draw apicture on here but I'm not quite that adept 
with the computor otherwise I could show you how to layout the ell by 
triangulation.

You don't live anywhere near north Missouri do ya.

All you need is a slip role, tinsnips, dividers, and a straight rule about 
36" or so and a tape measure.

For the seam just weld unles you have a role forming machine or a break. 
Could also drill and rivet.
You can get crimpers at a hardware store or sheet metal supply house, 20 to 
30 bucks.
