Terry,
Watch the pressure rating on that propane tank.  It
may be for relatively low pressure, whereas an air
supply may require relatively high pressure.  Also
don't forget the issue of residual oil and
sulfides/mercaptans in a propane tank.  Might be safer
to go with a tank specifically for air.
