hello;
the burn-out oven outlined in my previous posting is to have an
oxygen depleted internal environment which will not allow for
combustion. basically, the intent is to bake off the organic compounds
and turn them to ash or decompose them to hydrocarbons which may be
burnt via combustion in the afterburner.
one way to obtain the oxygen depleted internal environment is to have
water spray in the oven. the water spray is used to cool down areas and
sections of the oven which have become too hot and to generate low
pressure steam. the steam will displace the normal atmosphere.
