One year at Pennsic, the guys took to lighting the campfire with one
of those little soldering torches. At Pennsic, maintaining the fire is
a guy sorta thing- we have a bunch of firebugs who only really get to
play once a year ;-)

Then, a couple years ago, they discovered that the battery powered air
mattress blowers would make a Really Kewl Big Fire in a hurry- I think
they spent half of Pennsic using them, then tramping all the way up to
parking to recharge them.

Of course, they all know what would happen if they dared to touch my
forge without permission- death by hammer is not something they'd
choose to risk ;-)

Anyway, this year, most weren't there for one reason or another, so I
lit the fire more often than not, and had a couple impromptu classes
in cooking over an open fire, using Medieval pottery, as well as
cooking generally over it, since _I_ wasn't about to try to haul our
propane range and an 8 cu ft freezer from our storage locker in a VW
Jetta ;-0

Heat it up
Hit it hard
Repent as necessary.

Has anyone seen my temper?
I seem to have misplaced it at Stalag XXXV....
