Chris,

I'm talking about flint.  I guess you could use steel if it has a sharp edge
and it is harder than the Ti.. Kind of like a mini sen.

Just like flint and steel, the flint shaves off a sliver of the metal which
gets real hot in the process creating a spark which when captured on a piece
of chared cloth will start a fire.

I ground the surface off to clean metal this morning and it works a lot
better.  I'm also getting more aggersive with my striking which may be part
of it.

We are very familiar with one half this equation; namely the Ti half. What
is the other half? Flint? Iron? Steel?
