[TheForge] Plate for my post vise

No worries Dan, I am probably trying to do to many things at once. Regular
work and trying to learn SQL databases.

I am normally a real smart ass, as I like joking a lot. I was just confused
which is easily done.

Thanks
Martin

No.1
If you cut it to 18" sq., and tilt it over don't you think you could flop it
to where you are going?
No.2
If you deside not to , you can use it elsewhere. Go ahead and buy it.
No.3
$44 to $87 is a lot to pay for scrap.Truck rims are free, and round. Put
hole in the plate to anchor w/ bridge spikes.
No.4
I was jerking your chain about the anvil, as long as the horn points to your
hammer side, your post vise won't care.
No. 5
I was the one being a jerk, excuse me.

The scrap on it is 50 cents to a $1. I am guessing it is about 87 pounds. I
didn't want to waste the money on a test.

Not to sound like a jerk, but what does the way my anvil points have to do
with it?

Thanks
Martin

Now that depends.
Which way does your anvil point?
Why don't you try it and see if it meets your needs?

I need a thicker plate for my 51/2" post vise. Currently I have a ¼" piece.
My friend found a ¾" piece that is 22x18. I want to make it round so I can
roll it. I was just going to weld the ¼" on to the ¾" for a total of 1".
Would a 1" piece that is 18" dia be heavy enough so it will not move all
around?

Thanks

Martin
