[TheForge] Plate for my post vise

The scrap on it is 50 cents to a $1. I am guessing it is about 87 pounds. I
didn't want to waste the money on a test.
Not to sound like a jerk, but what does the way my anvil points have to do
with it?
Thanks
Martin

Now that depends.
Which way does your anvil point?
Why don't you try it and see if it meets your needs?

I need a thicker plate for my 51/2" post vise. Currently I have a ¼" piece.
My friend found a ¾" piece that is 22x18. I want to make it round so I can
roll it. I was just going to weld the ¼" on to the ¾" for a total of 1".
Would a 1" piece that is 18" dia be heavy enough so it will not move all
around?
Thanks
Martin
