Thanks to all who suggested a trip there- what a fantastic place!
The Putnam gates were behind lock and key, but I got lucky when a tour guide
found out I was a "blacksmith" and begged for the key, and took us in for a
close up look.
There were several places where the guide pointed out pieces that were made
by Yelllin and matched by others, and I was impressed by how Yellin left
hand rails fairly well hammer textured, and it draws the hand to touch it
much more than does the cleaner, smoother version.
