Not to go head to head with Ries... :-)
But this is a domestic lamp shade, not an industrial, fork-lift-proof
fixture. . 1/8" (x 1/2 x 1/2 ?) is overkill. And while it's easy to
*flatten* angle, I've always found it an incredible PITA to open up
the angle nicely while keeping the sides flat. And flat sides is
presumably what you want for tidy fit-up.
If you have a way to shear strips -- treadle shear, Beverly, plasma --
I'd say go with strips of 16 ga. (or even lighter ga.) and a quickie
tool, sort of a bottom swage, welded up out of 1" x 1/4" or the like
to the angle (110?) you need. Straighten the sheared strips,
optionally anneal them, dink them into the tool with a thin-edged
crosspeen, straighten again.
When I had a large coach lamp to make, I had a big fab shop shear a
whole bunch of 16 ga. into 1" strips and make them into angle with
their fancy break. Didn't have to do a lot of eyeball straightening
and the leftovers were handy for years after.

And don't forget the special light bulbs that are resistant to
pyramid power. 8-)
