Jerry, that is pretty much my story also.

However in my area there is an increasing use of plastic, both credit 
and debit cards, instead of cash or check. This is both because of 
convenience and a safety factor.
When  I factor that and the occasional Internet sale accepting cards is 
beginning to look more reasonable.
