There was a story several years ago about an *anvil trader*, (let's call him
Mr. Haney) who sold a beat-up, hit-run dirt dauber repaired anvil to a young
fella for $150. Haney told him the friendly neighborhood welder would repair
it for $50. The whole mess had to be ground out and re-welded and $150 later
he had an anvil with a rough, built up surface. It then had to be surface
ground and the sides had to be cleaned up with more grinding. The fnw said
the guy had over $400 and a lot of time in an anvil that's now worth about
$150. He also said he would not repair any more anvils.
