That could have been prevented with the proper dose of iodine. They did give
out some Potassium Iodide at Chernobyl but it is so bitter that most could
not keep it down. Potassium Iodate is chewable and works much better.
If you have enough good iodine in your system your body won't take in the
radioactive stuff.
