Hey Ron,
I have to reproduce some "strap hinges" . The strap section is !/2 x 2 and the section that would roll around the pin is 1/4 x 2.
I figured that I need to hammer the width first then thin it out. Kevin confirmed the approach. holding the width and thickness at the same time could be fun!
