[TheForge] Acetone in gasoline (was: Hellooooooo!)

This is an intriging idea, but I am dubious. The following statement
from that website is pure and utter bullshit:

"Acetone has an inherent molecular vibration that "stirs up" the fuel
molecules, to break the surface tension."

That is not to say that the whole thing is bullshit. I just don't
know. But acetone is an "oxygenated" compound, of the sort required by
law in gasoline some times and places. Seems to me that if such a tiny
amount worked as this website says, then someone would have already made
acetonated gasoline available commercially.

If you decide to play with acetone, remember that it may be
contaminated with methyl ethyl ketone, which is a baddy, so keep it off
your skin and don't breathe it. Also, it may do a number on your paint
job, so mix with a gallon of gas externally to your car, and then add
the spiked mix.

My guess is that outside the lab the milage difference will be
indiscernable. Wouldn't mind being wrong about that, though.

Another thing that I have been trying along with staying below 60MPH is

adding acetone to my gas tank. Take a look for your self.
