[TheForge] FW: ITC 213 question

Martin,

I have been selling ITC products for many years. ITC-296A is the
recommended top coat for use over ITC-100HT.

ITC-213 is a coating used to protect metal subjected to high
temperatures. It was not developed for use on refractory. ITC-213 is
designed bond to the metal and minimize the erosion of the metal. It is
brown in color.

ITC-100 HT is the best product to coat ceramic fiber refractory. ITC-100
can also be used on fire brick, fire insulating block, castable
refractory and ramable refractory. It is best to lightly mist the
surface of the refractory with clean water before applying the ITC-100.
This retards premature drying of the coating. The brush used to apply
the coating should also be dampened. The application of the coating
should not be over worked on ceramic fiber. In other words, use the
brush to apply the coating in a smooth even stroke. Don't brush back and
forth or it will pull the fibers and create hair balls.

ITC-200 EZ can be used to repair damaged refractory that has first been
coated with ITC-100 HT. I have also used ITC-100 and tufts of ceramic
fiber to repair damaged refractory.

Hope this helps,
