Your perimeter insulation will help but why do you want to insulate the remainder of the floor?  I hope your not retro-fitting underfloor heating because I think you have better options in an existing building.

I don't know what your exterior walls are but is there any way you can insulate on the outside and save the expense of trenching around the interior?  BTW.... you need to insulate  to frost depth from the outside of the wall.....  THAT MEANS that if you are 3' out of the ground and frost depth is 3', you will have to go down 6' to be effective.

What I have is an old warehouse with approx two 4" pours of concrete over 3  
of sand.  Floor level is approximately 2' to 4' over grade.  The room  is 4000 
feet with a 25' ceiling.  The question is whether to insulate the  floor 
under the radiant floor.  I have already decided to bust out a trench  around the 
perimeter and insulate but am stumped at the underside.
