It was a good chat even if it was pretty short. You get to know people so
much better when you can hear the tone and inflection of their voice.
There is no accent in E-mail emoticons don't count. The first time Bill
Roberts left me a message I was surprised at his southern accent, silly of
me I know but I was. Now when I read a post from Bill I can imagine it in
his voice and accent. Much better.
Maybe you guys in the lower 48 don't notice it as much as we who're more
isolated. I've been to exactly one hammerin and just three get togethers of
any kind. Anyway, I either have to ply the craft alone or train up my help
and even just hearing a voice makes an impression.
Terry called a couple times yesterday too but I was away from the comp so I
missed him. Sorry Terry. Gizmo is a beta and has a couple little glitches
though they're updating all the time. One of them is the status alert
setting, it keeps changing on it's own. Basically whatever my status says I
may or may not be there so give it a try anyway.
Another little tip is use headphones. External speakers are fine on your end
but the person you're talking to hears themselves echo in the background and
it's distracting.
Talk to ya later.
